Overview

Lancaster was granted its Royal Charter in 1964 and was one of the new campus universities built in parkland outside the city. It is 15 minutes by bus to the vibrant and historic city of Lancaster in the northwest of England and close to Morcambe Bay. To the north lie the southern lakes and the city of Manchester is to the south. It has very good road and rail links and trains run directly to Manchester Airport. The university is proud of its collegiate system. All students are members of one of the nine colleges which provide accommodation and social and welfare programmes. The campus has very good sports’ facilities and Lancaster Arts is the centre for theatre, dance, exhibitions and concerts for the region. Lancaster offers a wide range of undergraduate programmes.
