Klaipeda University

Overview

This autonomous multi-disciplinary state university was established in 1991. It occupies a former military campus on the edge of the town which is known for its historic neo-gothic buildings. It offers a range of courses in English including in Sea Port Engineering and Engineering of Liquefied Natural Gas Terminals. Klaipeda is a port city in Lithuania on the Baltic. The river Dané cuts the city into two parts the modern new town to the North and the gentrifying cobbled old town to the South with its German style 18th century wooden buildings. It was the former Prussian capital (Memel). Ferries run to Scandinavia and the small international airport of Palanga is 30km north of the town.
