Founded in 1425 this is the oldest extant catholic university in the world. Its teaching facilities in Leuven are housed in beautiful buildings across the town centre. Known for its breweries and 15th century Town Hall the town is 28km east of the historic capital city of Brussels which has excellent transport links. Dutch is the main language but a few bachelor programmes are taught in English.
