Overview

Founded in 1992 the university is independently owned by the city of Joensuu a city where almost a third of the inhabitants are students. It is the forestry capital of Europe and known for its summer rock festival. Situated in eastern Finland 438km north-east of Helsinki it was founded by Czar Nicholas in 1848. It has a small airport and is 55 minutes flying time from the capital. The university offers Bachelor degrees in English in International Business and Nursing.
