Founded in 1992 this university is owned by the town and has a compact campus 20 minutes’ walk from the centre. Kajaani is the capital of the Kainuu region and lies to the south-east of Lake Oulu and just 40km from Vuokatti skiing centre. It has a small airport with regular flights to Stockholm and Helsinki. The university offers Bachelor programmes in English in: eSports Business Sports and Leisure Management International Business and Tourism.
