Iasi University of Life Sciences (IULS)

Overview

The Faculty of Science of the University of Iaši was founded in 1912 and became an independent institution in 1951 and is the university of agricultural sciences and veterinary medicine. It offers veterinary science in English. Iaši is the largest city in eastern Romania in the historical region of Moldavia and was the capital of the Prinicipality of Moldavia. Situated on the Balhui River the city has been a cultural and political hub since the 15th century and is known for its cultural scene- its concert halls, theatres, orchestra, opera, museums and Botanical Garden. The small airport offers some international flights to European cities, mainly operated by Wizz Air. Iaši lies almost 400km to the North of the capital Bucharest and about 317km to the West of Odessa on the Black Sea.
