Founded in 1863 as a theological college Huron was a founding college of Western University. This mainly residential and undergraduate institution moved to its current location adjacent to the Western campus in 1951. There are two faculties: Arts and Social Sciences and Theology. Students can combine any Huron program with Minors or Majors offered at Western, Brescia or King’s. Degrees are awarded by Western University. All first years are guaranteed a single room. London lies midway between Toronto and Detroit USA and close to Lake Erie. It is called the Forest City because it boasts more than 200 parks, woodlands and meadows. The city has a large student population and a young upbeat feel. There are a number of historic buildings and museums including Banting House, once the home of the man who conceived of the idea of extracting insulin from the pancreas. The city has an international airport.
