Founded in 2003 HYMS is the result of a strong partnership between Hull and York Universities. Students spend their first two years either based on the York University campus or at Hull University. A random allocation is made in early June. Years 3 -5 are spent at different hospitals in the region. The medical course has a blended, problem-solving approach. Applicants must enter for UKCAT. At York first year students are a member of a residential college and in Hull accommodation is available in Halls of residence. The historic cities of Hull and York are situated in East Yorkshire in the north of England and have very good road and rail links.
