The Art Jazz and Rock schools were amalgamated in 2001 to form the state recognized LKDM. It offers an International Programme in Popular Music in English. The college is situated 2km west of Freiburg city centre in the beautiful Black Forest region of south-west Germany. This medieval university town nestles in the valley surrounded by the hills and has a micro climate which makes it Germany’s warmest city and it is also the ‘greenest’. The first Passivhaus was built here. It is 1 hour from Basel with its international air rail and road links.
