Overview

Founded in 1994 this is the northernmost university in Germany situated just 7km from the Danish border. It offers a B.A. in European Cultures and Society in English. The campus is about 3.5km from the old port and the beaches on the Flensborg Fjord. Spared by the war the compact town is proud of its art nouveau houses narrow lanes and cafés. Sometimes known as the Rumstadt because of the 18th century trade with the Caribbean there are still small rum distilleries. Road and rail links are very good to Kiel and Hamburg 155km to the South with its international airport.
