This private state recognized university was founded in 1992 and has three main campuses in towns in western Finland. It offers a number of Bachelor programmes in English at Kokkola including in Environmental Chemistry and Technology Information Technology and Nursing and more. The small town of Kokkola is situated on the Gulf of Bothnia in a mainly Finnish speaking area. It is a centre for leisure and outdoor pursuits and the old town is known for its preserved wooden houses. It has a small international airport and is four hours from Helsinki by train.
