The cathedral town of Blackburn lies in the Pennine Moors about 40km north of the great city of Manchester in the northwest of England. It is close to the beautiful Forest of Bowland. Blackburn College with its town centre campus opened as a university centre in 2009 and offers courses from entry level to Masters degrees. It engages with businesses in the development of vocational and degree level courses. In 2014 the state-of-the-art Regional Automotive Technology Hub (RATH) was opened. Degrees are validated by Lancaster University, UCLan and other universities.
