Overview

Aalto was founded in 2010 following the merger of three specialist colleges. It is named after the Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. It offers practice oriented courses including a Bachelor degree in International Business at the Mikkeli site which is about 23km north of Helsinki city centre. The main campus at Espoo is to the West of the city. Helsinki is on a peninsula on the Gulf of Finland. It is home to the Parliament and national institutions and the ornate Uspenski Cathedral overlooks the harbour. The city boasts the most art nouveau buildings in Northern Europe.
