Keele is ranked first in the world for its green setting. The 600 acre rural campus with its extensive woods, lakes and parkland is situated in the heart of England, 6km from the town of Stoke on Trent, once the centre of the English pottery industry. From here there are excellent road and rail links. Granted its Royal Charter in 1962 Keele developed flexible, broad-based courses with an inter- and multidisciplinary approach. There are three faculties: Humanities and Social Sciences, Medicine and Health Sciences and Natural Sciences. In the NSS 2016 it was ranked first for student satisfaction.
