University of Brighton

Overview

With three campuses in Brighton and sites in Eastbourne and Hastings this is a south coast seaside university. Brighton is 55minutes by train from Central London and has very good road and air links. It is a day trip destination for Londoners who enjoy the shingle beaches the Regency-era buildings and the pleasure pier. From its humble beginnings in 1859 as the School of Art in the kitchens of the Royal Pavilion the university now offers a wide range of courses. It is home to the Brighton and Sussex Medical School, established in 2003. The ethos of the university is strong- an engagement with cultural, social and economic life of the community both locally and globally. There is an Active Student Volunteering Service.
