Overview

This private university was founded in 1997 by the organisation Opus Dei. The faculties of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences are located in the historical town of Sant Cugat del Vallès with its monastery dating back to the 9th century. By fast train it is about 30 minutes (25km) from the cosmopolitan city of Barcelona, famous for its Gaudi cathedral, architecture, art galleries and gastronomic delights. Barcelona, the capital of the autonomous region of Catalonia, is on the coast in the Northeast of Spain. The university offers some bachelor courses which are partly taught in English. Dentistry is taught in English for the first two years. The medical degree has recently gained international accreditiation.
