Additionally it will provide insight and understanding into the diversity of roles within the music industry, recognising the importance of collaboration at all levels.
The course also provides opportunities for you to develop the skills, techniques and personal attributes essential for a successful working life. Currently all students receive an instrumental lesson as part of the timetable which enables specific development of their instrumental technique and performance. Students on the Music HND have enjoyed numerous performance opportunities, including regular lunchtime gigs, performances at events such as BBC Music Day and at local venues such as The Underground. We also work closely with other local music venues such as Kala Sangam and Delius Arts Centre to ensure that ‘real world’ performance opportunities.
Through our membership of the National Skills Academy students are given the opportunity to attend a ‘production day’ at Leeds Arena, observing the technical set-up for a professional gig. This partnership also includes a visit and guest lecture from an industry specialist.
