Overview

As a mechanical engineer, you’ll design, develop and improve mechanical components and systems for pretty much anything!
The BEng with foundation year provides creative and talented students, career changers, or those with experience and passion for the subject, with a direct route to an engineering degree. You’ll gain the theory and practical science knowledge needed to study at BEng level which utilises the pioneering CDIO approach. You can study the broader course or follow a more specialised pathway in Advanced Manufacturing or Systems Engineering. You’ll work on industry lead projects and apply academic knowledge to real life issues, and be able to take advantage of industrial collaborations at our liaison labs at Discovery Park and Kent Science Park.

You will explore areas including:
\ computer aided design and rapid prototyping
\ environmental impact of products
\ electro-mechanical systems.

YOUR CAREER
This exciting course will equip you to become a practising professional graduate mechanical engineer. You’ll be able to apply technology to solve problems and engineering challenges for a variety of industries including advanced manufacturing, automotive, green energy, biomedical and construction.
