The Make-up Artistry BA (Hons) Degree was developed in consultation with industry specialists to meet the ever increasing demand for highly skilled make-up artists. Learn professional skills to become an innovative and in-demand make-up artist.
This course was designed to build on the skills acquired in each of its two year pathway programmes (Prosthetic Make-Up Effects FD and Fashion & Editorial Make-up FD). Students can learn professional skills to become an innovative and in-demand make-up artist.
A Level 6 BA (Hons) course both challenges and extends sector knowledge and encourages you to establish your professional practice. Modules include the development of your individual portfolio and a showcase module with a focus on your future career.
Teaching and learning will take place through a combination of lectures and seminars, presentations and tutorials alongside directed and independent learning outside of the scheduled sessions. Lectures and seminars provide an opportunity to share knowledge and experience providing a forum for discussion, debate and exploration of issues.
At Level 6 you are expected to engage in a minimum of 200 hours of academic activity per module (600 hours for the final major project module). This includes attendance at lectures and seminars as well as engagement with directed and independent learning activities and assessment. You will be expected to become resourceful and entrepreneurial and to take responsibility for your own learning. Independent research, reporting on own reading, one to one guidance and small group discussion will be available to help you progress. Your independent study is supported by the excellent LRC at the Aireville Campus in addition to the College’s Specialist Support Centre.
