Mechanical engineering serves an important role in our everyday lives and in the function of engineering businesses. It encompasses the principles behind static and dynamic systems and materials used in manufacturing processes.
These courses will develop your knowledge of how to analyse and design mechanical systems, produce both 2D and 3D CAD files and manufacture them using CAM, and important business principles that mechanical companies requires.
If you’re undertaking further professional development or wish to pursue a career in mechanical engineering, then this course will suit you.
Typically the HNC takes two years, however prior units can be considered as accredited prior learning if suitable. Students will attend for one day per week, you will also need to dedicate a substantial amount of time to research and work outside the classroom.
WORK-BASED LEARNING/WORK PLACEMENT
This is an in-service course. Where students are not in employment, it will be the student’s responsibility, with support from the college, to find a suitable work placement.
