Overview

The purpose of this award is to produce graduates with the knowledge and skills that equip you to play a leading role in football coaching and development. The award requires you to underpin coaching theory and technique with psychological and sociological perspectives to ensure an appreciation of the wider academic influence upon football coaching and development. You will employ the theoretical knowledge within specific coaching modules to develop your own practices and reflect on your continued development throughout levels 4 and 5.

You will undertake formal work experience in Level 5 in a setting of your choice to develop work related skills and abilities and are given the opportunity to expose you to a wider range of experiences within football coaching and development through partnership work with a number of key local partners with national reputations. Your experiences will support partners’ initiatives and county wide plans, and you will gain first-hand experience of key football development practices.

The partnership work across this award allows you to develop key employability skills and will enthuse and motivate you to develop key work ready skills essential for successful employment in football coaching and development.
