• Who’s the course for?
This course, accredited by University College Birmingham, has been designed to explore a range of non-medical procedures within cosmetology. It will provide a foundation for a variety of careers within the skincare sector, including laser practitioner, skincare specialist and treatment/training co-ordinator, and is ideal for anyone looking to maximise on the opportunities in a world of advanced anti-ageing procedures.
• Why should I study the course?
Teaching and individual study covers a vast range of core competencies in the sector including the physiology of ageing, science of skincare and clinic practice.
You will be able to apply your knowledge in practical and relevant ways to different areas in the field of hair removal, skincare and beauty products.
As a graduate, you will be able to perform laser, intense pulsed light, chemical peeling and other techniques to reinforce treatment efficacy alongside a range of advanced electrical face and body technologies.

You will get the chance to experience our state-of-the-art teaching facilities which feature the latest salon equipment and cosmeceutical products and treatments from top brands including Lynton Lasers and Environ.
As an undergraduate, you will also have access to UCB’s £26 million study centre at McIntyre House in the historic Jewellery Quarter.
• So what modules will I study?
Year 1: Academic Skills, Employability Enhancement, Physiology of Ageing, Aesthetic Technologies in Hair Removal, Therapeutic Techniques, Aesthetic Technologies in Skin Rejuvenation.
Year 2: Clinic Practice, Placement, Science of Skincare, Clinical Aesthetic Procedures, Advancements in Technologies (students with a general Level 3 qualification in Beauty Therapy only, which must include Level 3 Face and Body Electrotherapy), Advanced Techniques and Consultancy Procedures, Principles and Practices of Electrotherapy (students without a Level 3 qualification in Beauty Therapy that includes Level 3 Face and Body Electrotherapy)
